Myongji Hospital on Thursday signed a three-way deal with the United Korean Association of Hawaii (UKAH) and Sogang University to provide remote Covid-19 treatments, healthcare consultations and checkups for ethnic Koreans in Hawaii.
The communication platform for UKAH developed by theBomS, business-academia collaboration with Sogang University, will provide the hospital's treatment and consultation to Koreans in Hawaii.
"It is a great help for health promotion as Koreans in Hawaii can receive real-time healthcare services provided by excellent hospitals in our homeland through an online platform," UKAH President Park Bong-yong said.
Professor Han Jae-hyung at Sogang University also said that the university supports establishing platforms for Koreans living overseas based on altruism. "With Myongji Hospital's virtual care service combined to the existing communications, we have become a perfect bridge for the health and well-being of Koreans in Hawaii," Professor Han said.
Myongji Hospital Chairman Lee Wang-jun said, "Among the Korean associations established in the U.S., UKAH is the second to receive virtual care services after those in Atlanta.”
Myongji Hospital will provide healthcare services to Koreans in Hawaii through an innovative medical system and platform and also offer preferential health checkups to those who visit Korea, Chairman Lee added.
