Myongji, SNUH to cooperate on dialysis software
Myongji Hospital said that it has signed an agreement with Seoul National University Hospital (SNUH) regarding the latter’s Health Avatar DialysisNet, a smart device software used in clinical care.
Myongji Hospital President Kim Jin-goo (left) and SNUH Professor Kim Joo-han signed a memorandum of understanding at Myongji Hospital in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, on Tuesday.
Under the accord, the two hospitals will collaborate on the development and operation of Health Avatar DialysisNet and Avatar Beans.
Health Avatar is a service that stores personal medical records and health-related life records on its software and allows patients to search for the data using mobile devices such as smartphones. Health Avatar Beans is a smartphone application that enables patients with chronic kidney to check hemodialysis records, hospital test results, medications, and dialysis information in real-time.
The two hospitals will also actively cooperate in developing a platform, based on DialysisNet, which can help patients with joint diseases.
“Using Health Avatar Beans will make it easier for patients to check their results as well as allowing doctors to explain the patient’s status more smoothly,” SNUH Professor Kim Joo-han said. “As a result, it will improve the quality of care and increase patients’ satisfaction.”
Myongji Hospital President Kim Jin-goo also said, “It is significant that the health avatar program can be used in Myongji Hospital. With the introduction of Health Avatar Beans, we will be able to conduct large-scale multicenter clinical studies, as well as automatically obtain assessments of the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service’s complex tests and dialysis outcomes and practice patterns study (DOPPS).”
